The Grandness of Portraiture

The thing about life imitating art, or visa-versa, or whatever, is that sometimes it can be so enjoyable to forget which one is which for an afternoon or so.

When I was young the pizzeria around the corner had glorious wall to wall mirrors on either side, facing each-other, so to look into one would be to see yourself forever, and what could be better really, for a young child, than pizza and infinity?

This is a shirt with her and her moms from when she was a little kid. 

So, you know, pretty cool.

Everybody likes Obama. Except, you know, racists

Everybody likes a cool shirt.

People are like: "Hey Cool Shirt!"

and then the person is like "oh. thanks I got it in this yard sale upstate in Oswego"

or something like that.

Chivalry, may in fact, as is often said, be dead.

But not Gentlemanliness.

As evidenced by this photograph, Gentlemanliness is alive and well.

'Gentlemanliness' being defined as "the state of being Gentlemanly."

And 'Gentlemanly' being defined as "befitting, or characteristic of a Gentleman."

And 'Gentleman' being defined by this picture right here that you are looking at.

Let us say a little word of thanks for the Gentlemen of the world. 

For without the Gentlemen, (and the grand dames) our society would have long ago fell into the cold,

 clammy hands of mediocrity's inconsiderate, poorly dressed, menservants.
